Henshaws first ever art event was a resounding success and so far we have raised £568.50 for the art, sensory, music and drama departments and  money is still coming in through sales of posters and postcards.

The overall feedback from the evening was how professional the whole exhibition looked and the high quality of the students art work.

Joe Manby Limited has now very generously donated the boards  permanently to Henshaws so we will be able to use them for many different events in the future.

The kitchen staff provided very tasty canapes for students and staff to hand out and Spirit of Harrogate donated several bottles of delicious Slingsby Rhubarb Gin and a wide selection of tonics which gave the event a very sophisticated feel as we all walked around sipping G&T, nibbling on canapes and looking at art!

The event was opened by local artist Holly Holder whose life was changed after she was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa – a degenerative eye condition that resulted in her being registered blind.

I can’t be thankful enough to the staff who volunteered their time to help, the kind donations from Joe Manby Limited and Spirit of Harrogate but most importantly the students who have worked so hard over the past year to make this whole event possible, I’m ridiculously proud of each and every one of them.

Roll on next year
